Have you ever used a “Walkie-talkie” made with two cans and a cord? Have you ever used the real ones? They are very helpful to conduct a conversation between two people who are not far away from each other.
The problem with them is the interferences. Sometimes you just cannot hear, or understand well what the other person is trying to say. It is frustrating. You try different channels, but nothing happens. The main problem, most the time, is the interference.
You know that something is going on. Sometimes the problem is on the waves, there are other waves in the area and they are interfering in the conversation. Other times it may be the batteries and the equipment are not working well. As you can see, in our unanswered prayers we could have problems inside and problems outside.
Prayer is like talking with God through a Walkie-Talkie, we have direct access to Him, but sometimes we get interference in our communication, He cannot hear us, or we cannot hear Him.
In the Bible there is an interesting text that illustrates this situation very well. It is in Daniel 10: 10-14. There are other texts in the Bible showing us the kind of interference that our prayer life suffers, but this one is one of the best. Sometimes we think that God does not care for us, but the problem is that our prayers do not get there or His answers do not reach us.
There are many interferences in our prayer life. I will share with you just three of the most common so you will be aware of what is going on if you do not get the answer to your prayer.
1 – Interference in the Spiritual Realm
The first kind of interference in our communication with God happens in the spiritual realm.
My brothers and sisters, believe it or not, there is a spiritual realm around us. The Bible defines it as a realm with spiritual beings, good ones and evil ones. They are angels, and some of them are fallen angels who are here to destroy the children of God, or impair them to follow Christ.
The text that I mentioned is clear on this subject. The angel of the Lord is explaining to Daniel that the day that he started praying the answer was given, and he was on his way to bring the response to Daniel, but the angel suffered a resistance. Here it is the text: “Dan. 10:13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.”
I do not have time to go into details about the whole spiritual realm and its influence in human affairs. But I know for sure that they can interfere in our prayers, going up or coming down. We need to be aware of it, so we can pray more specifically and incessantly. Daniel prayed and fasted during those 21 days, and finally his answer came.
This story helps us to understand the importance of perseverance in prayer. It also explains why we do not get some answers to our prayers.
My friend, like Daniel, do not give up on your prayers. Keep praying, God will answer you.
Have a blessed week,
